Asia-Pacific partnership creates new ‘centre of gravity’ for global trade

A new free trade agreement, covering 30.5% of the world economy, enters into force on 1 January 2022.
It eliminates 90% of tariffs among 15 East Asian countries: Thailand, China, Philippines, Australia, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Singapore, and Vietnam.
